FAQ: Can I use different custom domains in Jobrock?

Question:

Is it possible to use different custom main domains for the different Jobrock modules such as appointment, automation and canvas?

Answer:

Yes, technically this is possible. However Jobrock strongly recommends to use the same main domain at least for appointment, automation and for the custom email address you configure and use subdomains to differentiate.

There are several reasons for using one (1) main domain for these Jobrock features and use subdomains on this main domain for the Jobrock modules:

  • Candidate experience

Imagine a candidate who receives an e-mail from notification@yourdomain.com. In this email we communicate an automation link which uses link.otherdomain.com. Afterwards the candidate receives communication to book an appointment via appointment.otherdomain2.com. For a candidate this can look rather unprofessional instead of all communication coming from one trusted and recognizable domain.

  • Deliver-ability

An appointment invite email is send to a candidate from notification@yourdomain.com but it contains an appointment invite link which is generated on appointment.otherdomain.com . THis means that the appointment link is generated on a different domain than the domain where the email is sent from. This might have a negative impact on the deliverability of this communication and communication might be flagged.

NOTE: For canvas it is possible to use different (main or sub)domains.

However: keep in mind to use the same main domain for custom e-mail and the custom domains for appointment and automation.
